Crépy is without a doubt the most notable wine from the region of Savoie, a claim which is due not only to the vines themselves, but also to its history and its geographical location.
Crépy is a light wine, although it is rich in alcoholic content. It ranges in colour from a beautiful pale yellow to a golden hue, and its pleasant bouquet reminds one of May flowers and almonds. Upon tasting, one discovers a pronounced nutty and flinty flavour. Once bottled, it continues to improve in quality.
This dry, crisp and acid-free wine, is an excellent accompaniment to fish, salami, Parma ham and cheese - it is especially agreeable when drunk as an aperitif.
